My colleagues and the internet won't shut up about all the big name games coming out right now, but, honestly, this is the only one I'm excited about. It won't be easy waiting until March, but then again, if it was easy, it wouldn't be Dark Souls.

But GTA V comes out in 13 days 2 hours and 33 minutes. Not that I'm counting or anything.

I heard a rumor they are making it easier. . . they better not be! The challenge was the fun part!

Believe it or not, I was never a big GTA fan, haha... Probably because I was already deep, deep undercover in the original PSX Driver years before GTA III came out and actually made the series famous, so it never really sparked my interest.

Plus, I'll probably have to buy a new PC to run DS 2, so I might as well start saving now, what with the prices these things command in Brazil.

I heard they were adding an "easy mode" of sorts that severely limits what you can do in the game, but as long as they don't touch the standard difficulty level, I'm ok with it. If I recall correctly, the game's director said in an interview that there's no need to worry about the difficulty, it's just not been discussed a lot because it's already established, and the "balancing" the producers are talking about is to make sure the game won't force you to stop and grind for levels, which is something the first already didn't do.

But yeah, I'm keeping my fingers crossed here, they just can't screw this up.

That is good. I really fell in love with the first game, hopefully the up the ante with this one.

According to PC Gamer's hands on review of the demos, it's leaner, faster, more violent and unsettling than the first, and the environment is out to get you as well. Some commenters were worried that trimming some of the fat might mean removing some depth from the status screens and character builds, but to be honest, I thought DS' status screen to be quite massive for a game with real time action.

All in all, if trimming the fat means I can count even less on levels and equipments, and more on my own skill as a player and a weapon that's special to me, go for it!

I am pretty sure I died more times trying to pull out a certain item during a fight than I would like to admit, although if I remember correctly it was fairly easy to find an item.

I personally hope for more customization with the weapons, the system in the game was just a bit to simple for my tastes. Then again I didn't really do much in the way of magical reinforcement.

Amen... something along the lines of Vagrant Story would be cool, but without the extreme over/underpowering of the weapon enemy types. I really like how the weapons in Dark Souls are less about status or numbers and more about play styles, as if they were equivalent to each other, but each one plays differently. Expanding on that would be sweet.

I tried using a Halberd like a sword, didn't pan out too well. Once I got used to it, it became one of my favorite weapons. Talking about this game makes me want to do a second play-through.
